Pharmacokinetics

One hour after injecting the muscle, it can reach the treatment concentration in the blood. After 1 to 3 hours, it can reach the peak medicine concentration. The effective concentration of NiKang remain for over 48-72 hours. It can penetrate through the blood brain barrier. Its biology utilize ratio was 88.8%. It was mainly metabolized through liver and kidney, only a small amount was excreted from feces

Therapeutic indications

Florfenicol injection is a broad-spectrum synthetic antibiotic active against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It can be used to control bacterial disease of swine, chicken and fishies caused by susceptible bacteria. It is recommended for use in swine suffering from the following bacterial infection: contagious pleuropneumoniae, asthma, atrophic rhinitis, swine erysipelas, swine pasleurellosis, yellow scour of newborn piglet, while scour, Escherichia coli, agalactosis syndrome and other bacterial diseases. It can also be recommended to treat chickens respiratory infection due to pasteurella multocida.

Administration and Dosage 

For swine and chicken: 0.67ml/10kg, of body weight by the intramuscular injection twice at 48 hours intervals

For fishes: 0.5-1.0mg/kg of body weight, once a day.
